BRUZZI WEDDING INVITATION SUITE

For the love of stationary…

My personal wedding suite was a daunting project. Since I have such a passion for stationary, I really wanted to hit it out of the park and showcase my love of what paper can do. This was tricky because I had all the options in the world, and only my own (and my husband’s) opinion to narrow down. Typically when I work with a couple to create an invitation suite for their wedding, they have an idea of what they would like, how they want things worded, what does and doesn’t need to be included, etc. Because I was the client, all options were available.

To help narrow things down, I created a digital vision board or “brand guideline” of how I wanted my our to look. I included color schemes of the bridesmaid dresses, aspects from the table decor, photos of bouquets I was inspired by, and wording I liked from other invitations. I knew I wanted to include a few elements to make the suite feel luxe and original, such as incorporating wood veneer in our laser cut belly band, and inserting floral envelope liners. I knew I wanted the invitation to feel interactive but also keep all pieces organized, hence the pocket-fold. And I knew that it must be letterpressed (obviously).

Drawing from the deep romantic jewel-tones and natural elements guiding the design of our wedding, we went with a navy blue pocket fold with matching envelope. Dark colors stand out in the mail, and lend themselves nicely to white or gold ink calligraphy. Once the envelope is opened and the belly band removed, you see our invitation letterpressed in a mulberry ink with blind-debossed leaf elements separating areas of information. On the right side, a pocket holds the info and rsvp cards with return envelope.

We loved assembling and sending out these invitations, and got many compliments on their originality and quality of printing. If you are looking to up your wedding invitation game, or any stationary for that matter, adding thoughtful touches like a personalized belly band, or a peek of color in an envelope liner can elevate your whole suite.
